Clitocybe odora (Fr.) Kummer Gr¨¹ner Anistrichterling, Clitocybe odorant anise or Blue-green Clitocybe. Cap 3-9cm across, convex at first with a low, broad umbo, later expanding and becoming irregular and wavy at the margin; dingy green to bluish green; grayish, bluish, or nearly white; finely matted with silky hairs or sometimes with a hoary bloom. Gills slightly decurrent, close or crowded, broad; whitish tinged with cap color. Stem 30-70 x 5-15mm, solid becoming hollow, sometimes curved and enlarged toward base; whitish tinged with cap color; base spongy and covered in fine whitish down. Flesh thin, firm; whitish to pale tan. Odor strongly of aniseed. Taste strongly aniseed. Spores ellipsoid, smooth, nonamyloid, 6-7.5 x 3-4¦Ì. Deposit whitish pink. Habitat singly, scattered, or in groups on leaf litter under hardwoods, especially oak. Found widely distributed in Europe and North America. Season July-September (November-February in California). Edible. Comment. Said to be edible but I would avoid eating it. |

I have been trying to identify these. I think they may be clitocybe odora. I discovered them in the forest in the Pacific Northwest. What do you think?
